Samson Yu

My research interest is AI-assisted scientific discovery for longevity. I envision a future where research agents (RA) can send ideas into cloud-based, AI-assisted wet labs for experimentation. 🧬

I'm currently fascinated by these research questions:

• Knowledge & representations: Can the way RAs choose experiments tell us about its scientific knowledge?
• Ideation: Can thought experiments help RAs come up with creative (original and effective) ideas?
• Experimentation: Does an explicit set of principles about the underlying world help agents choose informative experiments in a principled way?

I’m a PhD student at NUS Medicine, advised by Dianbo Liu. I hold a Master of Computing (AI) from NUS, advised by Harold Soh, and a BEng (ISTD) from SUTD.

Outside of research, I make music (alongside playing piano and singing) for emotional wellbeing (mentored by Melvin Goh) and participate in my local Plum Village community for spiritual wellbeing. 🧘🏻‍♂️
